Item Description
This is a lovely secondary association specimen from the famous Lavrion District in Greece featuring eye-catching velvety blue-green Malachite pseudomorphs after Azurite associated with semi-spherical, resinous olive green colored (which transitions into more a silvery hue on the edges) Smithsonite on oxidized matrix. A tiny bit of light blue Rosasite can be seen in spots. The largest Malachite pseudmorph measures 1.6 cm across, and the largest Smithsonite aggregate measures 1.1 cm across. No damage, very showy, and the piece sits quite nicely on its own without the aid of a base or clay.
The piece was mined in 2020.
