Item Description

A superb, full-sized miniature display specimen from the world's most famous locality. A classic 4.6 cm pseudomorph of velvety, chatoyant, forest green colored Malachite has replaced a preexisting Azurite crystal which is aesthetically flaring off of the thin layer of matrix underneath. The textbook "sword"-shaped habit of the original Azurite crystal is still beautifully preserved by the Malachite The piece is beautifully highlighted by a few sharp, lustrous, silvery colored reticulated twinned Cerussite crystals, the largest being a "snowflake"-esque group measuring 1.5 cm across. NO DAMAGE, highly displayable and truly desirable in terms of the classic locality and the association. Previously valued at $3,500 by the accompanying dealer label, but I could see it priced at much as $5,000 in today's market with the high prices being paid for top end Tsumeb specimens. From the Collection of Shields Flynn.
