Item Description

The Silver Bill Mine in Southern Arizona is best known for its beautiful Rosasite specimens, and although there are many localities in Arizona for Malachite pseudomorphs after Azurite, they are incredibly hard to find from this locality. Several fine blocky crystals of what were once Azurite have been completely pseudomorphed in to velvety forest-green Malachite. A fantastic piece for any "completionist" collector of Arizona minerals or secondary ore minerals. You'd be hard-pressed to find another piece like this on the market. There is an old tag with the piece that states it came from Arizona mineral legend, Richard Bideaux in 1981. Valued at $700 for the rare locality. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
