Item Description

Please note that this specimen came with a label stating it was simply "Tiger", so we don't know if it's specifically from the Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine or a lesser-known locality. The piece hosts beautiful, velvety, chatoyant blades of Malachite which have pseudomorphed after preexisting Azurite measuring up to 5 mm across sitting on Quartz matrix. There is a dusting of a pale yellow-green mineral, possibly Cerussite, but it's difficult to tell because it's micro material. A beautiful little thumbnail from one of the most beloved species-producing locales in Arizona. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10771). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecord.com/pdfs/Kay%20Robertson%20Collection.pdf ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
