Item Description

A classic specimen from Tsumeb featuring a 1.5 cm, very sharp, pseudomorph of velvety forest green Malachite after preexisting Azurite. A few additional pseudomorphs can be seen on the piece as well. The label mentions that there is associated Arsentsumebite along with possibly Dundasite(?) and Aurchalcite. No damage that I can see. A very aesthetic display specimen of this world famous material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8812). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
