Item Description
A true classic from Bisbee! This piece features a predominant, sharp, blocky, prismatic, "sword-shaped", doubly-terminated crystal of Azurite which has been pseudomorphed into forest green colored Malachite associated with additional pseudomorphs on the display side of the specimen. No real damage from the front, though it is contacted on the back / base where it was removed from the pocket. The piece displays well and really looks nice up close too. This is historic material from Bisbee, the premier locality in Arizona for Azurite and Malachite specimens in many collector's minds. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#1346). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
