Item Description

A showy and now classic example of these beautiful pseudomorphs from the famous (and now defunct) Milpillas Mine. This locality will not produce any more of these beautiful secondary copper species, as the oxidized zone has been mined out, so there are no more colorful species like Azurite and Malachite to be found. Although there were many of these specimens available a few years ago, fine quality, display specimens are now few and far between. This sized specimen features fine quality, velvety / chatoyant forest-green crystals of Malachite that have altered from previously existing Azurite with very minor matrix. The largest crystal measures 2.3 cm. A good quality and showy specimen of this well known material. No major damage that I can see with the naked eye on the display side, but it is not complete on the back / periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall.
