Item Description

An attractive specimen of Malachite pseudomorphs after Azurite from a discovery in 2012 at the Milpillas Mine. Although there were a good number of these specimens available a few years ago, fine quality, undamaged display specimens are few and far between. Now that the locality is no longer producing any specimens, pieces like this are fast disappearing from the market. This piece features a rich coverage of good quality, velvety, dark forest-green crystals of Malachite that have altered from Azurite. The largest pseudomorph measures 2.3 cm long. The slight contrasting reddish oxidized area on the back of the specimen makes for a great touch of additional color. Very little damage, and great quality for the find. Priced at $1,800 in the inventory.
