Item Description
From a recently purchased dealer's inventory at the Denver Show in September, here we have an aesthetic and showy specimen of Malachite pseudomorphs after Azurite on matrix from the now famous discovery of 2007 at Milpillas. Although there were many of these specimens available a few years ago, fine quality, undamaged display specimens were few and far between. This specimen hosts several, fine quality, velvety, beautiful forest-green crystals of acicular Malachite which have altered from bladed crystals of Azurite sitting on matrix forming a very aesthetic display piece. The largest pseudomorph measures 3.1 cm. Very little damage, quite show and eye-catching. A very attractive bigger cabinet specimen of this now well-known material. I'm told that the oxidized zone at the mine is now finished, and we will not see any more of these amazing specimens. Milpillas may very well be done, and good specimens like this will become exceedingly difficult to obtain on the market these days. Valued at $1800.
