Item Description

A beautiful specimen from the great Morenci Mine, which is one of the great copper localities in all of Arizona. This attractive small cabinet sized specimen features lovely "rose"-shaped groups consisting of crystals of what was once Azurite, but has been pseudomorphed to forest-green Malachite, on matrix. The largest crystal measures about 1.2 cm. Minor roughness in spots, but no major damage on the display side. A great piece for any fan of secondary ore minerals, worldwide pseudomorphs or minerals of Arizona. Valued $750. You don't nearly as many good Morenci pieces on the market today as opposed to 20+ years ago. This piece was mined in the 1980s and comes from the collection of Stan Esbenshade.
