Item Description

A beautiful specimen from Morenci, one of the great copper localities in all of Arizona. This specimen features attractive layered "rose"-shaped groups consisting of lustrous, tabular crystals of what was once Azurite, but has largely been pseudomorphed to forest-green Malachite, though a tiny bit of navy blue Azurite can be seen near one edge, on a small bit matrix. Minor roughness in spots, but no major damage on the display side. A great piece for any fan of secondary ore minerals, worldwide pseudomorphs or minerals of Arizona. Valued $750. You don't nearly as many good Morenci pieces on the market today as opposed to 20+ years ago. This piece was mined in the 1980s and comes from the collection of Stan Esbenshade.
