Item Description
Classic, old-time, exceptional large combination from the famed, extinct Tsumeb Mine. A fantastic, upright, pristine, 6.0 cm, "sail" of chatoyant Malachite pseudomorphing a tapered Azurite blade dramatically dominates the piece. The "sail" beautifully rests atop a very sculptural combination matrix of more malachite pseudos colorfully accented with contrasting clusters of translucent, cream-colored Calcite rhombohedrons. The remarkable malachite pseudomorph in the front is 5.8 cm long. Ex Frederick Engel Collection. He may have purchased the piece from Hugh A. Ford (H.A.F) in 1955. Ford was a prominent East Coast dealer, who passed away in 1966. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base value at $145 for free. Valued at $4000-5000. This is an outstanding and statuesque malachite after azurite and calcite combination from the world-famous locale!
