Item Description
A classic of Tsumeb and of replacement minerals (pseudomorphs), this specimen is a well trimmed miniature that features a sharp, velvety, green "sword"-shaped crystal Malachite replacing Azurite. This is then associated with olive green Bayldonite and medium green color Arsentsumebite on matrix from Tsumeb, indicating this is an older specimen, probably from the early 1900s era. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8197). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
