Item Description
An outstanding and aesthetic pseudomorph from lesser known Kerrouchene in Morocco. Malachite has mostly replaced a striking, 2.8 x 2.1 x 1.2 cm azurite crystal monolith with tapered edges and a jagged termination. The pseudo is dramatically set in a well-placed 3.8 cm deep vug in the impressive large sculptural matrix of fine-grained dolomite. You can see hints of azurite at the termination and base of the pseudo. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. Specimens of this quality came out in the early 2000s, with none since. An exceptional malachite after azurite pseudomorph of this uncommon blocky habit from the locale and beautifully set in matrix.
