Malachite ps. Azurite

Gorgeous, three-dimensional pseudomorph from the famous Milpillas Mine in Sonora. The velvety and chatoyant Malachite pseudos are extremely well-formed, and range from 2.3-3 cm in size. They are architectural, varied, and simply expressive in their beauty. I know that sounds artistic, but this cabinet piece, with its great aesthetics, size, and excellent composiyion, is virtually a work of art in and of itself. Even better in person! Quality like this has not been seen from Mexico in a long time, since the 1960s at Zacatecas. This could almost pass for a Tsumeb piece, the quality is so good. Subtly different than the Tsumeb pseudos, these are simply unique from previous finds. See the video for a good idea of how 3-dimensional this specimen really is! This was recently deaccessed from the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
