Malachite ps. Azurite

Item Description

A representative of this famous style of pseudomorph from Tsumeb, this is a rich cluster of Malachite after Azurite with classic style. Crystals of Azurite have their original forms perfectly retained after their replacement by bright green Malachite. All of the pseudomorphs have a beautiful, deep green color and some even shimmer as a result of the finely crystalline Malachite replacement. The smaller crystals are complete and terminated while the larger crystal, 2 cm long, is terminated on one end (the good end!) and not on the other facing downwards as shown. There is contacting around the periphery that reveals these pseudomorphs are essentially complete. The matrix consists largely of Malachite with some gossan matrix and some Azurite. A small patch of finely crystalline Calcite is present among the pseudomorphs in one area.
