Item Description

This is a classic and excellent old-time specimen featuring malachite partially replacing azurite crystals of a unique style. This striking and exceptionally beautiful piece consists of rare, bright royal-blue azurite core, surrounded by vivid green malachite. The azurite exhibits a stunning "electric-blue" hue that shines even without direct light, creating a remarkable visual effect. Azurite and malachite pseudomorphs are typically darker, but this miniature specimen is unusually bright, with the blue and green colors contrasting dramatically. Bisbee, a classic mining district known for its porphyry copper deposits, has produced thousands of outstanding copper mineral specimens, but this is one of the most special pieces I have ever seen! Ex Bill Panczner collection via Rob Lavinsky when he bought the collection, Jingnan (Tom) Zhang.
