Tiny rich green malachite botryoids have pseudomorphed sculptural dense nests of elongated spinel-twinned copper crystals on both sides of this dramatic, rich and rare combination from the famous and extinct Tsumeb Mine. The pseudos are strikingly accompanied by starkly contrasting glassy, adamantine lustre cyclically-twinned cerussite crystals. The concentration of cerussite crystals, to 1.8 cm, on top of the sculptural triangular gossan matrix really adds pizzazz to the piece. Such combinations are known from Tsumeb, but specimens of this richness and combination quality are RARE. Choice material from the Charlie Key Collection from a single large piece that we trimmed up. The combination has a surreal quality to it, with the green elongated pseudos covering or next to the glassy cerussites. This is easily the finest and most aesthetic two-sided combination from the single large piece we had trimmed some years ago. Valued at $2000-3000.
