Item Description
Malachite pseudomorphs after azurite are a Tsumeb classic and this is an outstanding and very aesthetic, old-time combination small cabinet. Striking, sharply terminated, parallel-growth pseudomorphs are dramatically set on the sculptural boxwork matrix covered with tiny, sparkly, cuprian smithsonite crystals. The pseudos reach 5.0 cm, have nice chatoyancy and are pristine. There are more thin-bladed pseudos inside the boxwork matrix. Every turn presents a new perpective to this most excellent piece! This old classic, from the upper oxidized levels, dates to about 1900. Valued at $1500-1750 and well worth it.
