Item Description
A superb old-time malachite after azurite small cabinet from the famous mines at Bisbee. Beautiful shimmering chatoyant velvet malachite has replaced a very aesthetic jackstraw cluster of tabular azurite crystals with both spearpoint and rounded terminations. The pristine pseudos reach about 2.8 cm. Undoubtedly collected prior to World War I, probably from the Czar Shaft. This is an outstanding and highly desirable two-sided pseudomorph from Bisbee. The Filer's label dates from 1949-56 and there is a $60 price on the back of the label. EXPENSIVE, even if in the 1960s or 1970s. Ex Dennis Mullane Bisbee Collection. Fairly valued at $1500-2000 today. Classic Bisbee.
