Item Description

A SUPERB, OLD-TIME, crossed swords of sharp malachite after azurite crystals from the famous Copper Queen Mine at Bisbee. The edge of one "sword" is a contact, not a break. This historic specimen has a super provenance and certainly dates to around 1900 or earlier: ex Roebling Collection, with a low acquistion number, 2637; ex Smithsonian; ex New Mexico Bureau of Mines; and ex Jaime Bird Collection. Comes in an antique, 8.0 x 6.8 x 2.3 cm, glass-cover box. Jaime bought the piece in 1977. Valued at $1200.
