Item Description
An exceptional, large, old-time malachite pseudomorph after sharp spearpoint azurite crystals from Tsumeb. The sparkly, rich green pseudos are up to 2.5 cm long. You can still see a bit of azurite scattered about on some of the blades. The coverage and density of the crystals on this pristine piece are, indeed striking. Tsumeb specimens of this size and outstanding quality are always highly desirable. Ex Brent Lockhart Collection. His label indicates, that he bought the piece from a three-generation Tsumeb mining family in 2004 and paid $3200. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $125, for free. Specimens of this size and quality are normally reserved for the Gallery or customers, but I obtained this super piece in a large trade and we are just liquidating it here...good luck! This piece is undoubtably from the old, upper oxidized levels of this renowned locale (early 1900s).
