Item Description

An impressive and excellent malalchite pseudomorph after azurite specimen from Bisbee. This sturdy piece is dramatized by the striking cluster of sharply terminated pseudo blades on the vuggy matrix and highlighted by the two, largest crystals, both doubly terminated. The more isolated crystal is 4.1 cm and the larger pseudo, with partially hidden terminations is 5.5 cm. The radial spray of pseudos is also notewothy. This fine, old-time pseudo is probably from the famous Czar Mine. It produced from 1885 to the early 1900s and 'yielded more fine mineral specimens than any other in the camp' (Mineralogical Record Bisbee issue, September-October, 1981). Ex Rukin Jelks Collection, prominent Arizona collector. Valued at $2500. A sculptural Bisbee pseudo with large defining crystals.
