Item Description
Malachite has pseudomorphed an impressive, very sculptural and aesthetic pair of large azurite crystals from the famous Milpillas Mine. The dramatic large doubly terminated, lozenge-shaped tapered pseudo is 5.7 cm long and the spearpoint-shaped secondary pseudo is 3.6 cm long. The bit of white dickite clay on one end is a fine contrast and accessory. Both of the matte finish rich green pseudos have moderate chatoyancy under bright light. Ex Ed David Collection. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and assembled several world-class collections before he passed away in 2017. An exceptional malachite after azurite small cabinet with remarkably large isolated crystals for the locale. I recall that he showed this to me shortly after he got it, in the early years of Milpillas production.
