Item Description

An exquisite, old-time matrix malachite pseudomorph after a sharp 3.2 cm azurite blade from the Sacarmento Mine. The classic tabular spearpoint is aesthetically attached to the shard of matrix. Complete all-around and pristine, this is an outstanding old specimen from Bisbee. The original Sacramento shaft started in 1904 and produced high grade ore until 1931. The Sacramento Pit started in 1917 and both localities were exhumed by the famous large Lavender Pit in 1950. Specimens from either Sacramento locality are RARE compared to other famous Bisbee mines. Valued by the former dealer at $400 when sold into a collection some years ago, and well worth it. A very fine 360-degree miniature.
