An attractive specimen of Malachite from the Kaokoveld Plateau in Namibia .This specimen hosts good quality, sharp, rather lustrous, dark green prismatic crystals measuring up to 1.6 cm on massive Malachite matrix. This is what is called "Primary" Malachite, i.e., not formed as an alteration from Azurite. You don't often seen these Malachite specimens on the market anymore, they were around for a brief time in the early to mid 2000s and seemed to have completely dried up. If you collect secondary ore minerals, worldwide Malachite or specifically pieces from the Kaokoveld area, do not miss out on this showy and display specimen.
