Item Description

A wonderful specimen of fine quality "Primary" Malachite crystals from the world-renowned Tsumeb Mine, one of the most prolific localities in the world. Primary Malachite means exactly that - it grew on its own, as opposed to replacing / pseudomorphing Azurite. This piece has notably rich green color with almost "wet" luster, and excellent, larger than average, "sword"-shaped terminations. There is distinct separation between the crystals, so you can see individual blades, as opposed to a group of tightly intergrown crystals, or compact masses that is more typical for the species. The piece is not without damage, but it's still showy and impressive for what it is, so if you collect copper minerals, secondary ore species, or simply pieces from Tsumeb, don't pass this one up. It's hard to convey the quality in photos/video, and I personally feel it looks better in person.
