Item Description
A beautiful polished Malachite slice from the famous L'Etoile du Congo Mine, displaying very well defined, concentric bands of alternating rich forest green and mint green layers. The beautiful mammillary aggregates look so wonderful on the inside, and it's no wonder why these are some of the most well-known and finest quality Malachites in the world. The piece is polished on both sides and considering that the piece is only about 5 mm thick, the patterns are notably different on each side of the specimen. The Star of the Congo Mine has largely been an intermittent, artisanally mined specimen producer that has yielded some great secondary copper minerals, and this piece would make a great addition to any collection. The piece weighs 147.3 grams.
