The famous copper mines of Katanga have produced an amazing variety of malachite specimens and this is a dramatic and sculptural piece from the Robert Nowakowski Collection. The multi-hued banded malachite has two totally different forms! Bubbly, botryoidal malachite with a striking stalactite is contrasted by the stunning field of nubby, rounded, mushroom-like malachite. The periphery wear reveals the beautiful banding and "eyes" of the malachite.
