This specimen is part of the 2020 Dallas Mineral Collecting Symposium benefit auction, with proceeds benefiting Mineralogical Record, Rocks & Minerals, Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, and mindat.org. Thanks to all of our participants!

China has produced malachite from several localities, but these velvety malachites from one location are really among the most stunning. When you move the light back and forth over them, it looks like eyeballs or circles flash on the knobs, tracking your motion. If you have not seen one in person, trust me that the effect is mesmerizing and interesting. It is brought out best by sunlight or LED lights in your showcase. This is complete, undamaged, 360 degrees around. Valued $9500.
