Stunning malachite "eyes" dramatically peer out at you on this striking two-sided polished, thick slice of parallel-growth stalactites from the famous Star of Congo Mine of the Katanga Copper Crescent. Marvelous high quality - the 'A' has all or parts of 11 "eyes". The 'B' side has only 8 "eyes". The contrast of mesmerizing eye colors, eye shapes and dense variable banding on both sides is remarkable. The exterior rind is all there on three sides, adding more character. This famous copper-cobalt deposit is extinct commercially, but artisanal mining by locals has recovered more fine specimens. This is an impressive and beautiful two-sided slice in this size range. 232 grams mass and easily displayable next to well-crystallized specimens.
