Malachite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Two spherical groups of botryoidal forest green sparkling Malachite comprise this attractive small cabinet display specimen from the Lukuni Mine. One spot on the larger group has a contact, but otherwise the piece is in great shape. You can see a layer of a soft greenish-blue Chrysocolla just below the Malachite. One of the showier and more eye-catching pieces of this material that I've seen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#12977). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
