An old-time, excellent, floater malachite-coated cuprite crystal from the famous mines at Chessy. This classic octahedron has very nifty raised edges, adding pizzazz. You can see areas of wine-red cuprite poking out of one side, that has modest bruising. The ancient Chessy mines were closed by the end of the 19th century and this is an fine example of a classic form and species. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Similar have sold widely in recent years for $200-400.
