Item Description
A hard to find pseudomorph of Malachite replacing preexisting Azurite from a lesser known locality, the Sir Dominick Mine in South Australia. The piece is nearly a complete "floater" specimen, but I can see a few tiny points of attachment, so it's just not quite there. I would best describe the form as a semi-"rosette", with some defined tabular crystals that can be seen here and there. The color of the Malachite is a rich forest green and there are even a few spots of dark blue Azurite here and there. I really love the three-dimensional form of the piece, and this is certainly a very good quality example of these elusive pseudomorphs. A great piece for any secondary mineral collector or a fan of pseudomorphs.
