Item Description
Malachite crystals of this sharpness are rare in nature, as most such crystals actually are replacements, pseudomorphs of malachite replacing an original azurite crystal. This is a nice thumbnail example of what is called primary malachite, as opposed to the sharp malachite crystals that replace azurite. Also, it is lustrous, in fact with a very rare, very high luster that is exceptional for the material, which is why it was kept in the Flynn collection.
