A fantastically sculptural malachite from Katanga. The vug looks like the maw (oral cavity) of a voracious green monster, dragon or snake with long fangs! The beautiful velvet malachite stalactites and botryoids have rich green color and high luster. Pristine except for the broken tip of the long stalactite, which reveals the hollow tube, where the precipitating fluids flowed. This is certainly about the most exotic Katanga malachite we have offered at auction. Older material from the 1970s or 80s and seldom available in this surreal style. Value???
