Malachite

Item Description

A striking, elongate, CABINET specimen of botryoidal malachite from China (not Congo), featuring a velvety, biomorphic-looking knobby "alligator tail" of deep green malachite. Some of the botryoids are chaytoyant. A modest bit of bruising on the complete all-around "tail", along with the contacting, but no damage, are noted. These are very minimal detractions to this dramatic piece. Highly representative and unusually sculptural for the species and locale.
