Outstanding three dimensional sculptural form of rich velvety, chatoyant, forest green Malachite that exhibits two different complimentary growth habits. There are globular groupings of botryoidal Malachite mixed with slightly curved stalactite forms. The Malachite stalactites appear to be hollow tubes with each of them revealing a tiny hole allowing the copper rich fluids to flow down and continue to precipitate Malachite. One can see directly through one of the larger vertical stalactites in the back of the piece. The specimen has exquisite aesthetics with varying levels of botryoidal Malachite, especially towards the upper back area where the botryoids appear to be held up by the stalactites. Very cool! Just an amazing pristine piece from the Shilu Mine in Guangdong Province, China. Valued by former dealer at $1500. A particularly elegant example in size range.
