Item Description
Here is a gorgeous, green spray of primary Malachite on matrix from Kerrouchene, Morocco, more known for small clusters than for large matrix specimens. The stunning fan measures 4 cm tall and 3.2 cm wide and is composed of a myriad of acicular (needle-like) crystals in just slightly divergent orientation that just shimmers with any incident light! The spray actually consists of one large fanned cluster at the front and two narrower, but nearly as tall, tight fans off to the right side. The terminations of all three are like a tightly bundled artist's brush. The big beautiful Malachite sits almost centered on the vuggy, tan to brown-orange, locally iron-stained, silicified matrix. This is a very well composed and balanced cabinet specimen, and it just glows with color in a case. At the time these came out, probably in the 1990s, Erika was one of the largest buyers period, and she particularly loved Morocco minerals.
