Item Description
Sculptural, older, two-sided, two generation small cabinet malachite from one of the famous copper mines of DR Congo. The prominent knob and most of the matrix on one side is covered with first generation, bubbly, botryoidal, banded rich green malachite. Lighter green second generation malachite on the knob and one edge is a very colorful accessory. The back side is festooned with similar rich green botryoids, but no secondary malachite. A showy older specimen from the Dr. Vasco Trancoso Collection. His collection label lists Zaire. DR Congo was Zaire from 1971 until 1997. Classic two-sided malachite from here.
