Item Description
Mesmerizing artistic form on the striking, variably-sized, rich green, beautifully chatoyant velvet malachite botryoids on this impressive and sculptural large two-sided crust from the famous Star of Congo Mine. The pristine primary malachite botryoids on the right edge have a totally different look, being much lighter with more intense chatoyancy. The dramatically different lighter and smaller botryoids on the attachment at the back are a striking and excellent bonus. The front is very nearly pristine, with only trivial bruising. A fine example of primary malachite from this well-known old copper and cobalt mine. Locals have worked the mine in recent years for specimens and the specimen is probably from their efforts.
