Item Description

This is certainly the first piece of Magnetite that we've had to offer from this locality. Several sharp, well-formed, metallic grey colored dodecahedra measuring up to 3 mm are associated with gemmy, sharp, golden-coffee colored prisms of lustrous Vesuvianite on matrix. Very attractive up close. This association is not commonly seen from the Italian Alps, and is certainly worth picking up if you're a fan of this kind of material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#8551). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
