Item Description

Mineral specimens from this long extinct iron mine are uncommon and are seldom on the market. This is a very fine and rich two-sided combination ore specimen from the Orellana Collection. Sharp, lustrous, stepped-growth, metallic-gray magnetite dodecahedrons, to 1.3 cm, richly line an attractive vug on one side of the hefty granular magnetite and clinochlore ore matrix. A nice bonus is the 6.0 cm vug on the back filled with green clinochlore plates. Choice and rare combination material illustrated in Revista de Minerales, Vol. II, No. 3, May 2002, P. 24.
