Magnetite w/ Biotite

Item Description

An impressive, sharp, 4.1 x 3.5 x 3.2 cm, rust-brown, magnetite octahedron is dramatically perched atop a plate of octos nicely accented with pearlescent biotite books. The large octo even has biotite set on the crest. The crystal is complete all-around and pristine, even though the back has overgrowths of biotite and quartz. This is a very fine, way above average, older example of the species, with sharply defined crystals, from this well-known Ontario locale.
