Two metallic and textbook sharp magnetite octahedrons, to 9 mm, and glassy sharp adularia crystals are aesthetically set on the small cabinet gneiss matrix. Clinochlore and tiny rutile crystals are typical and excellent accessories. The bit of bruising to the magnetites is certainly acceptable in the context of this significant old-timer. Canton Valais is famous for outstanding Swiss magnetite specimens, but specimens attributable to the Ritter pass are RARE. This exceptional old-timer comes with a century-old German label, with the back indicating the piece came from the famous Heidelberger Mineralien-Comptoir. This very prominent dealership started in 1804 and lasted until the 1920s. Ex Scott Williams Collection. His label dates from 1955-1961. The piece displays beautifully without aid.
