Magnetite (superb crystal) (ex Bob Reynolds Collection)

Item Description

A stellar Magnetite crystal from the Iron Springs District in Utah (though the piece was erroneously labeled as coming from Cedar City). This toenail sized specimen features excellent, sharp, lustrous, faces with fantastic deep striations all over, creating a very three-dimensional crystal, depite the fact that it's a single off matrix. The front / display side of the piece is damage free, but the back / underside is contacted, though you really can't see it when it piece is displayed correctly. Most people are familiar with Magnetite as a species, but superb crystals are incredibly hard to find and sought after. To find a crystal like this (over 3 cm), with such sharp, well-formed faces and beautiful crystallization is exceedingly rare. Valued at $700 for the size and quality.
