An exceptional fine and RARE tabular magnetite thumbnail from this classic New York area. The sharp metallic dark gray faces are very lustrous. Complete all-around and nearly pristine and a floater, with only a bit of out-of-sight bruising on one edge. The label says Fowler Ore Body, Balmat. Specimens of ANY species are RARE from this mine. The piece could easily be from the nearby ZCA No. 4 Mine. The tabular form is also very rare from the ZCA mine. Magnetic as you would expect. Value? A must for the species or locality collector.
