Item Description

An elongate plate entirely covered in satin, gray-black Magnetite crystals from this unusual locality in Australia. This cabinet piece is composed almost completely of 0.4 to 1 cm Magnetite crystals from end-to-end and all of them display the dodecahedral form - which is not common. They scintillate with a gray, submetallic satiny luster. Needless to say this hefty piece is incredibly magnetic! This reminds me of a giant piece from the old Grace Mine in the USA, but too big. It is a fabulous example of the species! The rare locality is a bonus.
