Item Description

A rare locality specimen from the Mount Brussilof Magnesite Mine in British Columbia featuring fine quality (as good as I've seen from the locality), compressed rhombic crystals of rather lustrous, heavily striated, sharp, white/colorless, gemmy Magnesite measuring up to 2.4 cm, associated with a smoky grey colored, gemmy, sharp, lustrous, twinned rhombic group of Dolomite flaring off of one side. This mine is probably best known for its attractive orange Svanbergite crystals, and while there are no Svanbergites on this particular piece, it stands out at not only fine quality, but quite possibly the only piece we've had to offer with Magnesite and Dolomite together on the same specimen.
