Item Description
Mesitine is an uncommon variety ferroan magnesite and is rare from the famous Traversella Mine. Intergrown, extremely flattened brown rhombs to 4.0 cm in jackstraw fashion form a shapely and excellent specimen. Interestingly, one side of the rhombs have high luster, while the other side has a matte finish with nubby overgrowths on the faces. Drusy quartz is also noted. In excellent shape, all of the major rhombs are pristine, except for the cleaved crystal on the back side. Rare and choice material from this noted locale.
